During a routine physical exam, the doctor checks your vital signs, weight, size, etc. .. Then he / she begins to feel around certain places and ask you to cough to check for a hernia. But what are they exactly feeling for when you are asked to cough? Is it a muscular movement when the patient coughs? Anyone with some expert medical care to disclose? THANX!
The doctor will check your groin and you have cough cons for it to feel if you have a hernia. If you have a hernia and you cough the lining of the stomach will burst and that's how he can say. If you are young and active, it must be fixed, but if older and inactive, you could very well either, depending on the stage and it is in. The procedure is very easy to do in and out surgery day.
